Grinding Skills: Farming Tree!

Image
So I have gone over the construction tree which now doesn't seem as hard you thought it would be: granted it may take time but this skill is going to take a little longer due to the fact we cannot intervene in the Tier 2 skill.  In this post I am going to go over my own experience grinding up the farming tree skills: Farming Animal Lore Procuration Cooking Tailoring  Farming:  So the first skill you will be allowed to level is the farming skill, which allows you to either plow or gather wild seeds using a primitive sickle. Now like natures lore, gathering wild seeds is set on a luck based gathering style so you will fail to find things on certain tiles for a while. The best way to level farming to 90 (recommended) is to take a primitive shovel or metal one, find an area that is rich in fertile soil (green grass) and start plowing a large area. Plowing is not a luck based action and will certainly level you up to 90 in no time! Animal Lore:  So now that...

Grinding skills: Construction Tree!

Image
So we all know that getting specific skills are quite hard especially skills like gathering and animal lore! I will be going over some of the grinding methods I have used to conquer the skills I want to level! In this post I will be sharing my own opinion on how to effectively grind your construction tree skills: Terraforming Construction Materials Preparation Construction Masonry Architecture Terraforming:  It's pretty simple to level this skill up, simply take a primitive shovel and lower the ground maybe 3-4 times in one tile. Then open your inventory (Press "I") and double-click on your gathered fertile soil or forest soil and dump it back on the tile you were lowering. This should level you up to at least level 30. From this point you can continue this grind or you can find an area to start flattening since you just acquired the flatten land skill at level 30. As soon as you reach level 60  you can now start tunnels which will help with the next skill. ...

Mr Feudals Walk-through: Part 3!

Image
This is Part 3 of my walk-through on Life is Feudal. This has been a late upload as as specify in the game that a lot of people started attacking me. 5 players attempted to raid me, unfortunately I died, but I managed to snipe 2 of them and take from them very important loot! I also recruit two new members to my little guild to help out with building and other aspects! Unfortunately I did get a server crash so It brought the episode to a halt so I will continue when the server is back online. Here I am, online with the WolfPack Life is Feudal Community, you can find these guys on the Master Server list. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/wolfpacklifcommunity

Judgment Patch!

Image
Patch notes (ver. 0.3.3.3):  Implemented Judgment Hour gameplay feature. Do not forget to adjust its schedule on private servers and ask your server admins to do that on a dedicated ones  Made a major particle system rework. In current and following patches you will notice more adequate particle effects in our game (fire, smoke, blood etc)  You can now grind in our game :) ! Quern-stone is now working and should be used as a tool to grind wheat into flour. Windmill with advanced mass grinding mechanics will be implemented later  Slightly shifted camera position in War Mode. We will provide a more user friendly camera behaviour in one of the next patches  Optimized network code - effect will be hardly noticeable, unless you try to gather a crowd of players  Added voice chat indicator. You can move it or close it while in Interface editing mode (F10)  Added Shadow distance video setting. You might want to tune it down to reduce “morning lag” t...

Weapons: Tools as weapons?

Image
So you've been plagued with peasant bandits who are wielding those silly primitive axes? Bare in mind if you are attacked by 3-4 users using those axes they will do a stacked amount of damage. You have a metal hatchet... Think about it: A basic stone axe vs a serrated metal axe. I think you're gonna win. OK so in this game, you have a skill called Militia Service and it's pretty handy early game; Especially if it is level 60 where swinging attacks deal slightly more damage. Early game weapons are very ineffective in cases of damage: Except for the sling, used correctly you can KO a user in 4-5 accurate shots. But you will only have primitive tools at the start of the game, the most damaging of all of them is actually the primitive pickaxe dealing: 5 piercing damage on overhead strikes. Now, since you are using primitive/metal tools as a weapon you suffer a combat penalty where 50% of your swings will actually miss their target due to their small hit box and because the...

Infinite Piles: How to Make them!

Image
"We need an Infinite pile!", "what's an infinite pile? and how do you make one?", "Hey we want to know as well! How do you make one?!" So you have probably already heard about these things called "infinite piles" or "Inf piles". they are basically piles of resources such as: Stone, Iron/Copper/Silver/Gold ore, Granite, Clay, Sand,  Snow, Forest soil, Fertile soil. However, they are concentrated in one user made area. This is what an infinite pile looks like: As you can see, there is a large elevated area in the centre, surrounded by flattened tiles. On the front 3 tiles you can see there is Clay, Stone and Iron Ore. When I right click any of those tiles, select terraforming and select lower ground I receive 30 of the resources. But unlike dropped resources these resources do not disappear which means they can be used over and over. Scale of the Levels needed to make an Infinite Pile. Steps to make an Infinite Pile: ...

New Walk-through

I totally forgot the server I was previously playing on, in my first Back To Basics tutorial. I found a nice little spot located west of the lake, if you wanna come join me in that area on this server, feel free to drop me an add on steam.  In these couple episodes I will be showing you how to do basic and advanced crafting and other specific things. In the next episode I will be completing my house along with the starting point for grinding construction. Music: It actually does help!

Image
So one day I thought I'd throw some music on in the background and turn the in-game music off. Suddenly 3 users show up wielding swords and maces in light chain mail armour and there's me standing with my Bardiche great axe; naked, thinking "hmmm... I might not get out of this alive". They asked me to drop everything I had including my darling, bardiche that I rightfully named "B-Eder". Calling them out; I told them the obvious, they charged just as my favourite song came on. Hearing the song and the clash with PVP made me feel invisible. For those who do not know what a Bardiche is. Anyway, I came out of the fighting harshly bleeding, but I had struck down all three foes. The odds were pitched against me and I had no chance of surviving this. The music however spurred me to fight and win! albeit they may not have been experienced in the PVP and the combat system but they had the numbers on their side! The main reasons that I may have won and this is...

Order of building: What you should do first

This is going to be a small guide in which I explain the order of which I build my buildings! I will be going through it from the beginning to the very end. Even on different servers this is my prime order of buildings to follow. Firstly I find a good location which has defensive and offensive attributes: A hill or raised area of ground big enough to hold a medium sized fort. It also has to be abundant in resources: Trees, Stone, Clay, Iron/Copper. Basically find a good place that will have enough resources to last you. Once you find that area, start by leveling your appropriate skills and also gathering material to make tools and construction preparation structures: Furnace, Kiln etc. My first job is to get as much leveling down as possible, so I Focus the building tree with terraforming, construction materials preparations, construction and masonry. (A handy trick to level your construction fast: Build wattle fences until level 15, then set down 4 anvil and forge signs. Gather th...

Herbalism Path: Why we all hate it

Herbalism has to be the most time consuming skill to acquire in game today. Alongside with animal lore it is equally as frustrating. With almost 77 different herbs in the game and only a small number of recipes to make that glorified flux, you would think twice about being the herbalist of a clan/guild. But why do we all choose the path of a carpenter, a smithy or even a builder over the herbalist position? Here's my answer: Herbalism is the most time consuming skill to master in Life is Feudal. First off, in reality you need to max out natures lore, this will allow you to spot pristine herbs and high quality herbs on tiles surrounding you. Now, imagine grinding to get level 90 or 100 in natures lore: Gathering wild plant fibers until your eyes are sore or stare at the ground and search for herbs until you manage to even reach 80. It is recommended that you level up to level 90-100 natures lore because the more you level up the more herbs are visible on surrounding tiles. The n...

Hot patch: Friday 13th! Spooky spooky!

"Warmfix" posted by the dev team today (Friday 13th March) I had a look over the patch notes a moment ago and it seems they have fixed an error made in the last major patch about certain items disappearing and the ability to move logs! This is from their recent news on Steam: Patch notes (ver. 0.3.2.6):  Implemented a Repair Ability. Repair Kits of all sizes can now be crafted by anyone with Construction materials preparation skill.  Optimized claims calculation code. There should be less freezes now during claims recalculation  Added damaged models to different objects and buildings. Most of these models are not final!  Significantly lowered base decay rate for all objects  Fixed a serious bug that caused some objects to disappear in certain circumstances  Fixed and optimized network code  You can now Inspect objects to learn about their durability data  You can no longer use trash items and soil for sacrificing. They will n...
