Guild Claims tutorial and Torches!!!!

Image
Life Is Feudal have just released their Guild claims and Torch usability into the game! Guild claim tutorial  (I will be using images to help) So you just spawned in and you are currently a helpless noob running around a world full of veterans. Or you are in a Noob friendly server so the risk of being killed inst so high! Any-ways: As always, you find your ideal spot you want to settle on. I found mine instantly on spawning in: This looks good enough to start building  A good bit of land with plenty Forest and near the sea! only problem will be clay but that shouldn't be a problem, I could just create an Infinite pile somewhere, or trade with my neighbours. ( I choose a 3k skill cap server to make this easier for you ) A bit dark, but I have here a little settlement: A shack, three furnaces, one kiln, an anvil and forge, two coops (behind the shack) and a lot of wattle fences! So I played around for around 4-6 hours (me having almost 1000 hours o...

Weapons: A brief outlook - Post 1

Image
Weaponry: A Brief outlook on how to use/craft weapons in-game effectively. Are your weapons blunt and not killing your enemies/raiders? This may just help. The first real weapon skill you acquire is the "Militia Service"which is native to be 40 on character creation. Alternatively you can actually set the first tier weapon skills on character creation as well. These range from the following: War Horse Handling Militia Service Blades Mastery Two-Handed Blades Mastery Throwing Weaponry Now depending on what weapon you want to mainly use, you will also need to think about how your character is "built". Your stats will determine how effective you work with your chosen Combat tree. If you click on each weapon skill you will see the Primary and Secondary Skills you need to effectively use the weapon in that skill tree. If you have a high level in the primary skill and not the secondary you might suffer a slight de-buff on each speed/damage or even maneuverabi...

Armour and their Counters

Image
Flamberge Bec De Corbin "That's a nice set of plate armour you got there, it'd be a shame if I was to... I dunno; Hit it with this sledge Hammer!" welcome to my theory on the Life is Feudal armours available in-game. We all know that once you get your economic side of the game rolling full steam then the next step is gearing up for defence or war!  Now; everyone has their theory's about armours in game saying "Nah; Armour is just added weight", "It doesn't even do anything" or my favourite "It's just a waste of resources!". Technically in some cases these statements are 100% accurate, however; I have found the benefit of armour. First of all, Quality in the game matters, anything low quality isn't going to "cut it". Just like making a quality meal in real life, you only use the best ingredients. The same applies to Life Is Feudal. If you use high quality ingredients then your items crafted will ...

Steel shortcut

Image
Steel creation made easy! As we all know, gathering flux is the most annoying hardship on life is feudal. It should be, that stuff is pretty damn valuable! Gathering it takes a lot of patience and effort as well as countless hours gather herbs and finding combos. Now you are wondering, "How do I combine this with iron to make steel?". Well, your answer would be simple: According to the LIF wiki available at any time, you are supposed to throw 6 flux and 2 iron bars into a furnace/blacksmith/bloomery/forge and anvil and heat it right up and from the ingredients you "smelt" you receive 1 single Steel bar. Congrats! you're half way to making your first lock and 1/8 of the way to making a gate module! This method however can be succeeded and the way to do it, will grant you 5 steel bars in the same time it takes you to make 1. Follow these steps: Collect 12 flux Collect 2 iron ingots Throw both your Iron ingots and your 12 flux into a furnace/blacksm...

Top 3 Server Hosting providers

Image
Hosting providers As an admin and owner of a Life is Feudal server I know all too well that you need a very trust worthy company to start your server on. My first hosting service was with BlackBox Servers and Admittedly they were very good and trust worthy but it got to a point where the customer service started to slacken. So I moved to PingPerfect a recommended server hosting service mentioned by in-game players. Again they were very trust worthy and very efficient with the set-up of the server, but again the lack of communication really brought me to my last resort. I ended up getting a private message through steam from an Admin of a rival server I compete with in rankings, telling me that BlueFangSolutions had the answer I was looking for. He wasn't wrong, they were everything I needed in a server hosting service. Great prices, great specifications and alternatives, as well as hosting a great communication link between staff and clients. All of these server hsoting provide...

Server lists and information

Image
Server lists: Lately there have been a large influx of public servers being created since Life Is Feudal started. These servers can be both whitelisted and public areas for players to enjoy the game on. Having a Player community makes the game more enjoyable in my opinion. Each server has it's own set up on it's config files: Animal count Skill multiplier Crops growth Day cycle Animal breeding time Skill cap Crafting time period Terraforming speed These options can all be altered to make the game friendly to new comers by setting each option to a high level. However there are a lot of professional guilds and clans circulating the game and they normally have a team of 6-10 players in their guild specialising in different in-game tactics. The servers these guilds normally play on are defined as "hardcore" servers with low skill caps and other lowered settings to cater to a more challenging environment. There are several areas to view server lists, one...

2 and 4 pack purchase / Modding tool

Image
Life is Feudal has recently just released their new 2 and 4 purchase packs. Being self explanatory, you can buy 2 or 4 copies of the game for a better price than spending £25 to buy it over and over. With this new update, they have also included a modding tool that was built by a player of the game. This modding tool allows you to alter certain in game features that are server side. This allows all client users to join without having to download or install anything that would make it hard to access a server. The creator has released this modding tool for free; Which means anyone can use it. You can buy Life is Feudal from this link Here You can view all annoucements made by the Life is Feudal Dev team Here

Guild and Claim Update: February release

Guilds and Claims Update This update is in the process of being released soon. According to the Road map which can be located at Life is Feudal.com . according to the road map, the next update which is queued for this month (February) is around the 65% completion mark: Guilds and guild claims 65% Will allow you to designate “friendly” and “others”. Most important, it will protect your guild land AND objects from griefers. Objects and buildings that are placed entirely inside claimed land will be protected from being used by anyone except your guild members. That feature provides a solid base for further development of decay and “Judgement hour” systems. In my opinion this will shift the tide of gameplay in all the avaliable servers on this game. For example: If you have a clan of around 5-6 people using one singular gatehouse to enter and exit your castle, you will now have an ability to "add" friendly names to the "claim" so that the users who are trusted can u...
