Server lists and information

Server lists:

 Lately there have been a large influx of public servers being created since Life Is Feudal started. These servers can be both whitelisted and public areas for players to enjoy the game on. Having a Player community makes the game more enjoyable in my opinion. Each server has it's own set up on it's config files:

  • Animal count
  • Skill multiplier
  • Crops growth
  • Day cycle
  • Animal breeding time
  • Skill cap
  • Crafting time period
  • Terraforming speed
These options can all be altered to make the game friendly to new comers by setting each option to a high level. However there are a lot of professional guilds and clans circulating the game and they normally have a team of 6-10 players in their guild specialising in different in-game tactics. The servers these guilds normally play on are defined as "hardcore" servers with low skill caps and other lowered settings to cater to a more challenging environment.

There are several areas to view server lists, one of which is a place called Life-is-Feudal.org where you can view pages apon pages of server lists where they share their customized IP address or name on the master server list:

This huge list can be found when you access the game and select "Join a World". The list also features a filtering system to show servers by their names, their current server capacity and their Ping. A lot of players tend to filter by Server capacity to see the most popular servers.

It's up to you which servers you want to join: as previously specified, each server has it's own settings. You can see these settings in the bottom right of the image I used here showing all the important settings that govern a players game experience. Take these into consideration when you join a server as you may be a new player entering a very hard styled server. You may or may not enjoy it but it's important to take these settings on-board.

So this is a little run down on the Spear Mastery skill in the combat page. Spears are very useful weapons (especially when horses come into the game) but nevertheless they are very useful in the game. This little post will run down what you actually require to get to the Spear mastery skill: First you need to have level 60 militia services , which is straight forward to get: grab a tool, a hatchet I would recommend. Character Creation, what you need to know

Character Creation in Life is Feudal is fairly straight forward: Unless you are new this might seem a bit confusing. Creating a new character on a server is easy, but you need to know a few things before you creat your characters. First you want to join the server and then create a new chracter, give your character a fitting name: A made up one or an RP name. Change their race, looks voice etc. But what about Attributes, Crafting and combat Skills? Let me explain: Strength : This skill dictates how hard you hit a player with a tool or weapon. If you have low Strength you won't deal a lot of damage to your opposing player or animal. If you have high strength you will deal a lot of damage: fairly straight forward.  Strength also has the ability to dictate what weapon you can use effectively: If you have low Strength and use a heavy 2 handed weapon, your swings will be slow and clunk, whereas if you have high strength, your swing will be smooth and fast. Grinding Skills: Carpentry tree!

 Three Skills down and 2 to go on my Grinding Skills tutorials! I will now be covering the Carpentry tree where you can gather/plant sprouts, cut trees down, refine logs to make furniture and turn boards into bows! In this post I am going to go over my own experience grinding up the Carpentry tree skills: Forestry Logging Carpentry Bowcraft Warfare Engineering (Not implemented) Forestry:  To effectively level up your Forestry skill, it's probably recommended you enter the character creation stage and set it to 60 be default to collectively bypass it: but for those who do not, the best method I have found is collecting Sprouts from individual trees! Yes this does take a little time but gathering branches only levels me by 0.5/2.0 skill which is very slow. As opposed to gathering sprouts which levels me almost 5.0 skill points up, it's twice as fast and more effective.
