Terraforming: Why you need it and why you should understand it.
Ok so to start, Terraforming is the art of altering the landscape around you. Terraforming in Life Is Feudal is quite straight forward: you can raise and lower the height of the land you claim. On this land you can place structures, defences and objects that emit light and/or create items.
First step: Unless you have set terraforming in the character creation screen before entering a server to 60, then you are going to want to level your terraforming to 30. Normal players will want this to 60 because at level 30 you can flatten land, but at level 60 you can create tunnels, but we aren't making a tunnel in this tutorial.
Second step: Find an area you want to start a settlement/Fortress. Now right click the ground, select Terraforming and select Observe: you will now have the ability to view the levels of each terrain tile. Numbers will sometimes be wholesuch as level "18" etc and some will have a decimal point such as "17.9". My Recommendation: Use Whole numbers, as this will give an easier marker to work to.
Third step: Once you have found your area and a good level to work to, STAND IN THE TILE YOU WANT THE REST OF YOUR TILES TO BE TERRAFORMED TO (See Video At The Top). This is known (To me) is the golden tile, as it starts off your flat land. Right click the tile adjacent to the tile you are standing in, select Terrafomring and "Flatten land", you will either pickup or drop 30 units of dirt (0.1 levels) onto the area you want to level out. Once you have flattened the tile, stand in it and continue the process of flattening the land.
Why you need Terraforming and why you should understand it: Terraforming is needed for one sole purpose, building. Structures require flat land to be built on, they do this by showing a nice GREEN outline on your tiles. Now, it is important to understand because you can flatten land but you can also create inclines and declines that are also flat: on the you can build Stone walls/pallisades/Castle Walls. The walls will be angled in the direct of the incline.

So this is a little run down on the Spear Mastery skill in the combat page. Spears are very useful weapons (especially when horses come into the game) but nevertheless they are very useful in the game. This little post will run down what you actually require to get to the Spear mastery skill: First you need to have level 60 militia services , which is straight forward to get: grab a tool, a hatchet I would recommend. Take your hatchet or even a pitch fork and start attacking animals. you will level militia services up very quickly. Second , you will need to have your farming levelled up to 60, same with Animal Lore and Procuration . You will now need to grow flax and produce Flax fibers turned into hanks using your spinning wheel . Once you have 25 hanks of linen you can finally create linen cloth which can be created at your Loom . Third , you will now need a tailor to create a novice set of padded armour . Once you have either the leggings and/or the chest piece, you will...
Character Creation in Life is Feudal is fairly straight forward: Unless you are new this might seem a bit confusing. Creating a new character on a server is easy, but you need to know a few things before you creat your characters. First you want to join the server and then create a new chracter, give your character a fitting name: A made up one or an RP name. Change their race, looks voice etc. But what about Attributes, Crafting and combat Skills? Let me explain: Strength : This skill dictates how hard you hit a player with a tool or weapon. If you have low Strength you won't deal a lot of damage to your opposing player or animal. If you have high strength you will deal a lot of damage: fairly straight forward. Strength also has the ability to dictate what weapon you can use effectively: If you have low Strength and use a heavy 2 handed weapon, your swings will be slow and clunk, whereas if you have high strength, your swing will be smooth and fast. Agility : This ...
Three Skills down and 2 to go on my Grinding Skills tutorials! I will now be covering the Carpentry tree where you can gather/plant sprouts, cut trees down, refine logs to make furniture and turn boards into bows! In this post I am going to go over my own experience grinding up the Carpentry tree skills: Forestry Logging Carpentry Bowcraft Warfare Engineering (Not implemented) Forestry: To effectively level up your Forestry skill, it's probably recommended you enter the character creation stage and set it to 60 be default to collectively bypass it: but for those who do not, the best method I have found is collecting Sprouts from individual trees! Yes this does take a little time but gathering branches only levels me by 0.5/2.0 skill which is very slow. As opposed to gathering sprouts which levels me almost 5.0 skill points up, it's twice as fast and more effective. I would highly recommend getting your forestry to level 90 to have the ability to plant Oaks, e...
